1. Our Privacy Philosophy

ZeeReport is a professional knowledge base designed strictly for independent research. We prioritize a clean, high-performance environment and intentionally avoid “data leakage” to third-party advertising networks. Unlike many platforms, we do not use social media pixels or invasive tracking scripts that follow you across the internet.

2. Telemetry vs. Cookies

To maintain operational transparency, we distinguish between two types of data collection:

Cookies / Tokens

Small data files stored on your device to remember your session or preferences.

Event Logging (Telemetry)

Information sent directly to our secure servers when you interact with the platform (e.g., clicking a report link or using a filter).

3. Strictly Necessary Technologies

Certain technologies are essential to the functionality of the knowledge base and are active by default:

Authentication & Session Management

If you create an account, we use secure tokens to keep you logged in and to persist your “Saved Franchises.”

Platform Security

We use automated tools to protect our research data and forms from unauthorized bot activity and malicious access.

Service Stability

We monitor basic technical performance metrics, such as page load speeds, to ensure the research tools remain reliable.

4. Event Logging & Research Insights

When you use our research tools, we log specific interaction events to our internal database.

Purpose

This data allows us to understand which industries and metrics are most valuable to our users, helping us refine our analysis and improve the accuracy of our benchmarks.

Logged-In Users

For registered members, event logs may be associated with your account ID to provide a consistent research history across sessions.

Anonymous Visitors

For visitors without an account, interaction data is logged against a temporary session ID (stored in your browser tab) and a persistent visitor ID (stored in your browser's local storage). This allows us to understand browsing patterns such as pages per visit, session duration, and scroll engagement. These identifiers are not tied to a personal identity and are not shared with third parties.

5. Inquiry Actions & Lead Facilitation

When you explicitly request to be contacted by a franchisor (an “Inquiry Action”), we facilitate that data transfer through a secure third-party communication service. This service may verify that your request was successfully delivered to the franchisor to ensure the integrity of the connection.

6. Ownership of Derived Insights

We maintain a strict “Chain of Title” for all data processed on the platform:

Anonymization

We aggregate event logs to create industry-wide interest reports and statistical benchmarks.

Ownership

ZeeReport owns all right, title, and interest in these aggregated, non-identifiable datasets. Once data has been stripped of personal identifiers and moved into an aggregated state, it is no longer considered personal data.

7. Your Privacy Choices

Event Logging Policy

Detailed event logging is a core functional component of the ZeeReport membership experience. If you prefer that your research interactions not be logged or associated with a user profile, we recommend using the knowledge base as an anonymous visitor rather than creating a member account.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We respect browser-level Global Privacy Control signals. When GPC is enabled in your browser, we automatically disable persistent visitor identification. Session tracking is limited to the current browser tab only, with no cross-session linkage or persistent identifiers stored on your device.

Account Deletion

Upon account deletion, we remove personal identifiers (name, email) from our active databases. Associated historical event logs are de-linked and moved into an anonymized state for long-term historical analysis.
